The St. Thomas men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams will host the Joe Sweeney Invitational on April 29 at O’Shaughnessy Stadium, followed by participation in the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin on May 1.

The home meet marks the only outdoor event hosted by St. Thomas this season, providing an opportunity for athletes to compete locally before traveling for further competition. The team comes into these meets following a weekend of strong performances that included several program records across multiple events.

During recent competitions at the Drake Relays, Gary Wilson Invitational, and Rider/Bolstorff Invitational, both Tommie squads set new relay records and earned top finishes. Olivia Keller led the women with program-best times in the 400-meter hurdles (58.74) and 800 meters (2:06.54), while Brooke Wisdom and Morgan Koppelman set pole vault records at 4.08 meters each. Relay teams also established new benchmarks in various events including the 4×100, 4×400, sprint medley, distance medley relays, and more.

On the men’s side, new school records were achieved in both the 4×800 relay and shuttle hurdle relay at Drake Relays. Additional notable performances included a third-place finish in the men’s 4×100 relay—one of their best ever—and standout field results from Andrew Eichmann in javelin as well as sprints from Sam Hebert and Jack Weigel.

Several Tommies currently hold top spots or rank highly within Summit League performance lists across multiple disciplines such as sprints, relays, jumps, throws, hurdles, steeplechase, heptathlon and more—demonstrating depth throughout both rosters.
