St. Thomas softball lost both games of a doubleheader against Iowa State on April 28 at the Cyclone SB Complex in Ames, Iowa.

The games were marked by strong offensive performances from Avery Wukawitz, Laken Lienhard, Ella Cook, and Grace Nosan. Despite their efforts, the Tommies could not overcome Iowa State’s scoring runs and dropped both contests.

In the first game, St. Thomas started with a four-run first inning but eventually fell 6-5 after Iowa State tied the game in the third and took the lead in the sixth inning. Wukawitz went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI while Nosan drove in two runs for St. Thomas.

The second game saw Iowa State take early control with a five-run first inning. St. Thomas responded throughout but ultimately lost 11-8 after errors allowed Iowa State to extend its lead late in the game. Wukawitz finished with four hits and four RBI over both games, while Cook drove in three runs during game two.

St. Thomas will conclude its regular season facing North Dakota from April 30 to May 2 at South Field.
