The St. Thomas Tommies lost 12-1 to the Minnesota Gophers in their final midweek baseball matchup, according to an April 28 announcement. Adam Puder led the Tommies with two hits during the game.

The Tommies scored first when Lucas McNellis hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Easton Fritcher, who had doubled earlier in the inning. Minnesota quickly responded by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning, taking a 3-1 lead.

Minnesota extended its advantage by adding three more runs in the third inning and two additional runs in the fourth, making it an 8-1 game. In the fifth inning, St. Thomas loaded the bases but was unable to score any runs. The Gophers added another run later that inning for a 9-1 lead.

The game ended when Minnesota hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning, securing a walk-off victory with a final score of 12-1.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas will host Oral Roberts for a three-game series from May 1 through May 3.
