The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 4 that it responded to a cabin fire in the 3600 block of Brimson Road after receiving a 911 call at 4:46 p.m. on May 2.

The incident prompted a response from the sheriff’s office and several volunteer fire departments due to the remote location of the property. Upon arrival, a deputy found the cabin fully engulfed in flames, with other nearby buildings also sustaining partial damage from the fire.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office was contacted to assist with determining the cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation. Area fire departments remained at the scene until approximately 8:31 p.m.

In its statement, “The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to be mindful of windy, dry conditions when enjoying campfires or charcoal based grills.”

Officials have not reported any injuries or further details about potential causes as they continue their investigation.
