Join the annual family-friendly Coon Rapids Firecracker 5k Walk/Run and Kid’s Sparkler Dash in conjunction with the Coon Rapids 4th of July Celebration!  Registration is open now. 

2022 Coon Rapids Firecracker 5K

Monday, July 4
5K begins at 8 a.m.
Kid’s Sparkler Dash begins immediately after 5K awards

*Please note:  Race Day Registration will NOT be available in 2022. Register Now!

This event has chip-timed results. The route offers a safe and scenic path through city streets and shaded parks. The 5K start line and finish line are at the same location. Enjoy the festive 4th of July decorated houses throughout your run, two water stops and some AMAZING swag! Each participant will receive a race shirt, sunglasses, swag bag with additional goodies and a ticket for a free beer (21+) or pop from the North Star Lion’s beer tent. All finishers will receive a beer-opener commemorative medal. Prizes awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers!

Following the 5k awards ceremony, we have a FREE Kid’s Sparkler Dash that ends at the finish line. Each child participant will receive a finishers medal, coloring book, crayons and a popsicle!

Runners can wear their best patriotic costume for a chance at the costume contest! Join us for a firecracker of a run event!

Pick up race bib, t-shirt, swag bag and more. Receive $1 off a pint for all packet pickup participants.
