In her first tweet on May 2, 2025, Rep. Omar reflected on what she termed as “Trump’s chaotic 100 days in office.” She explained the focused efforts in speaking out against the Trump Administration’s actions, aiming to destabilize current processes. To emphasize her commitments, she stated, “It’s been another busy week in Washington – this week’s focus: Trump’s chaotic 100 days in office and what we’re doing to fight back. Here’s what I’ve been up to (4/28-5/2) I joined @usprogressives in speaking out against the Trump Administration’s actions to destabilize”.
On the same day, Rep. Omar addressed educational issues facing low-income Minnesotans. She criticized Republican efforts she believes create barriers to accessing higher education. Highlighting her actions, she noted, “Republicans are working to build barriers that hinder low-income Minnesotans’ ability to access higher-education. We’re pushing back. Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1982, Omar is a graduate of North Dakota State University with a BA, and resides in Minneapolis.
