Rep. Keith Allen (R-Kenyon) released a statement on April 27 following the death of Janesville Mayor Andrew Arnoldt, who passed away after battling cancer.

The announcement is significant for the Janesville community, which has lost its mayor and a longtime public servant.

“The Janesville community has lost a dedicated public servant and friend,” said Rep. Allen. “Mayor Arnoldt believed deeply in Janesville and what it could be. Over his tenure as mayor since 2021, he served the community with vigor, pride, and a genuine commitment to making Janesville a better place for all who live there.”

Allen said that Arnoldt’s leadership helped guide the city through important challenges and opportunities during his time as mayor. He also noted that Arnoldt’s passion for his hometown was clear in his efforts toward local development initiatives and in strengthening connections within the small town.

“Andrew’s legacy will live on in the work he did and the relationships he built throughout our community,” Allen continued. “My heart goes out to his family, his loved ones, and everyone in Janesville who was touched by his service and friendship.”
