Ilhan Omar, a U.S. Congress member representing Minnesota’s 5th district, shared several updates on social media regarding her recent engagements and legislative efforts.

On March 19, 2025, Omar expressed her enthusiasm after meeting with African American Leadership Forum CEO Adair Mosley. She stated, “Great to meet with African American Leadership Forum CEO Adair Mosley to discuss their Northside Forward Plan. Excited to see how this new vision will benefit Northsiders.”

In another post dated March 20, 2025, Omar addressed former President Donald Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act over the weekend. She remarked that it permits the administration to detain and deport individuals without oversight or recourse. In response, she announced her legislative initiative: “I introduced the Neighbors Not Enemies Act to repeal this dangerous law once and for all.”

Also on March 20, Omar extended her wishes for Nowruz, a traditional festival marking the Persian New Year. Her message read: “Happy #Nowruz! Wishing everyone celebrating a new year full of joy and peace.”
