She stated: “This week, we heard Trump take the stage at the joint address and do what he does best, sow division.” She highlighted her efforts to counteract this by inviting Chris Wicker, a veteran and fired federal worker, as her guest to the event.

On the same day, she tweeted about meeting with members of the University of Minnesota Student Government. According to Rep. Omar: “I met with members of the University of Minnesota Student Government. We discussed higher education policy, college affordability, food insecurity, and student loan debt.”

In another tweet from March 8, 2025, Rep. Omar emphasized support for veterans affected by policies from the previous administration: “Chris bravely shared his story alongside other affected veterans… We must stand up for the workers…” She reiterated her commitment to addressing these injustices.
