Michelle Fischbach, Representative of Minnesota, said that the One Big Beautiful Bill will enhance American energy production and support security, economic growth, and consumers. The statement was made on X.

“The U.S. produces energy safer, cleaner, and more efficiently than any other country, AND it’s the second largest revenue source for the federal government, AND producing domestically means we aren’t reliant on our adversaries like Russia and China,” said Fischbach. “The One Big Beautiful Bill will unleash American energy dominance because it’s good for the producers, the consumers, national security, and the economy.”

According to Oxford Economics, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is intended to expand U.S. domestic energy production—especially oil, gas, nuclear, and hydropower—by rolling back clean energy tax credits and easing permitting. Critics warn this may reduce renewable energy progress and increase household costs.

As reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the U.S. produced a record 103 quadrillion British Thermal Units (BTUs) of energy in 2024. Natural gas accounted for 38%, petroleum 27%, coal 10%, renewables 9%, and nuclear 8%. Federal revenue from oil and gas leases reached $8.5 billion in 2023.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. electricity sector cut carbon emissions by 30% since 2015. In 2024, wind and solar generated 17% of U.S. electricity, surpassing coal for the first time with greater efficiency and lower emissions compared to China and the European Union (EU).

As described by Wikipedia, Fischbach is a Republican U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 7th District since 2021. She is a former lieutenant governor and state Senate president with legislative priorities in agriculture, rural energy, and veterans’ services.
