The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Minnesota recently held its annual Small Business Day at their new office in St. Paul. The event gathered small business owners from around the state, providing them with an opportunity to engage with State Senator Rich Draheim and Representative Dave Baker.

“NFIB’s Small Business Day is the best opportunity for small business owners to share concerns with lawmakers and advocate for their businesses,” stated NFIB Minnesota State Director Jon Boesche. He emphasized the importance of communication between Main Street businesses and the Minnesota Legislature, particularly as they consider reforms to mandates and address budget challenges. Boesche expressed gratitude towards Senator Draheim and Representative Baker for their participation and ongoing support for small businesses.

Both Sen. Draheim and Rep. Baker are members of NFIB, known for backing policies favorable to small businesses. During the event, attendees received updates on significant issues such as Paid Family Medical Leave, the projected budget deficit, the 20% small business deduction, and the Corporate Transparency Act.

The event was sponsored by Cigna and Hill Capitol Associates.
