The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has issued a warning to consumers regarding Emek brand Pistachio Cacao Cream with Kadayif. The product, which is packaged in a 9.7 oz. glass jar, is identified by Batch Number 250401 and has a Best Before date of April 01, 2027.

This advisory follows the discovery of Salmonella contamination during laboratory testing as part of an investigation into Emek brand pistachio spread products conducted in Minnesota.

World Market, where the product was primarily sold nationwide, has initiated a recall. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of it.

Salmonella infection symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. These symptoms typically appear within 12 to 96 hours after exposure but can start up to two weeks later. While most infections resolve within five to seven days, approximately 28 percent of confirmed cases require hospitalization.

Consumers who have ingested this product and are experiencing symptoms should contact their healthcare provider for further guidance.
