U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, who serves Minnesota’s 5th district, shared a series of statements on social media on February 13, 2026, addressing national policy and local community engagement.

In a post made at 14:34 UTC, Omar criticized former President Donald Trump’s approach to energy policy. She wrote, “Once again, Trump is putting corporate fossil fuel profits over Americans’ health and safety. Hell no.”

Later that day at 21:56 UTC, Omar announced an upcoming event for her constituents. She stated, “Next week I’ll be holding my monthly town hall in Golden Valley at 6pm CT. I’ll never back down fighting for you and bringing your voices to the People’s House! Register here: https://t.co/pDUYle0P3M”

Omar has represented Minnesota’s 5th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Keith Ellison and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. Born in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1982 and currently residing in Minneapolis, she earned a BA from North Dakota State University in 2011.
