On January 25, 2025, Rep. Omar announced the re-introduction of the Neighbors Not Enemies Act, aimed at repealing the Alien Enemies Act. She described it as “a xenophobic relic that allows presidents to target immigrants without due process.” “I re-introduced the Neighbors Not Enemies Act to repeal the Alien Enemies Act—a xenophobic relic that allows presidents to target immigrants without due process.”

In another post on the same day, Rep. Omar expressed her admiration for the University of Minnesota Spirit Squad and Gopher Cheer and Dance teams. She commended them for making history by winning their first-ever national titles at the championships held in Orlando. “On the House floor, I celebrated the University of Minnesota Spirit Squad, the Gopher Cheer and Dance teams who made history at the national championships in Orlando, bringing home their first-ever national titles.”

Further addressing national issues on January 25, 2025, Rep. Omar discussed former President Trump’s immigration executive orders during a conversation with Kaitlin Collins. She noted their widespread impact across the country. “I spoke with Kaitlin Collins about Trump’s immigration executive orders and the ripple affects felt around the country.”
