Ramsey County officials announced on Apr. 23 that the first half of 2026 property tax payments are due by Friday, May 15. Property owners with a real property tax bill of $100 or less, or a personal property tax bill of $50 or less, must pay the full amount by this date.

This deadline is important for residents to avoid penalties and ensure their accounts remain in good standing. The county offers several payment options, including online payments, mail, in-person submissions, drop box deposits, and bill pay services. Payments must be postmarked on or before May 15 to avoid penalty charges.

For those unable to pay in full by the deadline, Ramsey County provides a one-time late payment penalty waiver for qualifying taxpayers. Additional information about this waiver and other payment details can be found through county resources.

Property owners affected by Operation Metro Surge may be eligible for a temporary extension on their property taxes under the 2026 Temporary Property Tax Extension program.

To help residents understand how their taxes are determined and how to read their statements, Ramsey County has produced an informational video available in English as well as Hmong (Hmoob), Karen, Somali (Soomaali), and Spanish (Español).

Residents with questions about their bills or payment process can call 651-266-2222 or email [email protected] for assistance.
