The U.S. Food and Drug Administration carried out inspections at three drug companies in Minnesota during the first quarter of 2026, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This number represented the lowest inspection count for any company type in Minnesota, accounting for 3.7% of all FDA inspections conducted in the state during the first quarter of 2026.

Among Minnesota drug companies, Birchwood Laboratories, LLC received the highest number of citations from the FDA in the first quarter of 2026.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.

According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety and quality.
