The Cass County Board of Commissioners announced on Apr. 7 that a public hearing will be held during its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 5, to conduct the second reading and final adoption of Land Use Ordinance 2026-01. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM in the Commissioner’s Board Room at the Cass County Courthouse in Walker, Minnesota.

This ordinance concerns land use regulations within Cass County and may impact residents, property owners, and developers in the area. Public hearings allow community members to provide input or raise concerns before new ordinances are finalized.

The board said that this session will serve as both the second reading and the opportunity for final adoption of Land Use Ordinance 2026-01. Community members seeking more information about the ordinance or wishing to participate are encouraged to contact the Environmental Services Office at 218-547-7241.

Public participation is an important part of local government decision-making processes, especially regarding land use policies that can affect growth, development, and environmental stewardship within a county.

After receiving feedback during this hearing, commissioners are expected to move forward with a vote on adopting Land Use Ordinance 2026-01.
